LISTEN TO THE PAINTINGS – or perhaps I could say LOOK AT THE MUSIC – features a unique collaboration with musicians that explores the fascinating relationship between painting and music, both having their origins in a common constructive system. For the works presented below, I have used permutations of the Fibonacci or of the Langford sequences to create the final numerical combinations (Remixes) that define the path and the rules that both the painter and the musician(s) follow to create their compositions.
The music and colour sequences are directly related to each other and together form the complete artwork. In addition, the musicians composed variations of these sequences, which took shape as a form of improvisation.
